A week prior to Christmas, I did Madi and Mark’s engagement photos in Boston! Of course they chose the North End, which is always a perfect backdrop, but their Christmas decorations added a special touch.
Madi had a great vision for the shoot, and wanted to get some bar photos! We began the session at Bricco, which is a fabulous Italian restaurant in the North End with a cute bar. After they shared espresso martinis, we strolled around, taking photos as we went, and found all the cute Christmas decorations. To end the session, we stopped at Mike’s Pastry. Naturally, they had to share a cannoli, Lady and the Tramp style.

Winter Engagement Photo Session in Boston North End
The bar made such a lovely backdrop for their engagement session in the North End. The bar wasn’t open yet for the day, but they made two fresh espresso martinis just for the couple. It was so kind, and they loved them!

Once Madi and Mark finished their espresso martinis, we strolled around the beautiful North End, stopping wherever we found cute Christmas decorations! These two are honestly naturals in front of the camera, and made my job so easy.
Ideas for Your Engagement Photos in Boston, Massachusetts
If photos aren’t really your thing, my best recommendation is to choose something to do! Engagement sessions don’t have to be just smiling looking at the camera—they can pretty much be a date night! Let’s go to your favorite bar, grab a cannoli at Mike’s Pastry, ice skate in the park. You name it, we can make it happen! Here are some other activity based ideas for your engagement photos:
- Coffee at your favorite cafe or cocktails at your local bar
- Baking or cooking at home (this is SUPER cute)
- A picnic outside with a cute setup
- Ice cream shop
- Reading together
- Hiking
- Walk on the beach
- Sailing or boating
- Renting bikes in the city
